KUALA LUMPUR 15 Aug — Four people escaped without injury after a helicopter caught fire while preparing for an engine test following repairs at Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport, Subang, today.
 
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department Assistant Director of Operations Ashrul Riezal Asbar stated the department received an emergency call at 12:30 PM and crews arrived at the scene within four minutes.
 
"Upon arrival, the helicopter was fully engulfed in flames. Airport fire and rescue personnel together with our firefighters immediately launched firefighting operations," he confirmed.
 
The Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) has formally verified the incident. It confirmed the runway remains closed at present, with further updates to be issued in due course.
 
The incident occurred as the aircraft was preparing for take-off to conduct engine tests following maintenance work. No injuries were reported among the four individuals on board.
