JOHOR DECLARES SPECIAL HOLIDAY TOMORROW FOLLOWING STATE ELECTION
JOHOR BAHRU, July 12 -- The Johor state government has declared tomorrow, July 13, a special public holiday following the successful conclusion of the 16th state election.
Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi said the decision was made as a gesture of appreciation to the state’s electorate for fulfilling their civic duties during the polls.
"With the consent of the Regent of Johor, Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim, the Johor government has declared Monday, July 13, 2026, as a state public holiday," he said in a statement today.
Onn Hafiz added that the holiday also serves to acknowledge the smooth polling process and the commitment shown by voters who turned up at the ballot boxes.
