AYER KEROH, Aug 24 — Perikatan Nasional (PN) has hinted the Melaka state election may be held in under two months, putting the coalition’s election apparatus on high alert.

 PN chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar warned that the constitutionally mandated 60-day window must not be misconstrued as ample time, but rather viewed as a critical countdown to determine the state’s leadership, the New Straits Times reported.

 “There is a specific reason I cited two months — though I need not explain it now,” the Terengganu Menteri Besar remarked during a PAS Melaka fundraising dinner yesterday.
