KUALA LUMPUR, 14 July 2026 - Perikatan Nasional (PN) will now officially refer Parti Cinta Malaysia (PCM) as Parti Wawasan Negara, following approval from the Registrar of Societies (ROS).  

PN secretary-general Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan said ROS had approved the name change application on 6 July 2026.  

“Consequently, Parti Wawasan Negara becomes a member party of Perikatan Nasional under its new name with effect from that date, in accordance with Clause 6.5 of the PN Constitution,” he said in a media statement issued Tuesday (14 July 2026).  

The confirmation formalises Wawasan Negara's name within the coalition after ROS’ nod.

PN expressed appreciation to ROS for processing the application.  

PCM was accepted into PN on 22 June 2026, after delegates unanimously approved the rebranding at a Special Delegates Meeting on 20 June 2026.  

Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin, now the party’s de facto leader and president, had earlier announced plans to set up a new party to be named Wawasan Negara. 

This sparked speculation on which existing party would be used until the EGM confirmed PCM would be rebranded.  

Hamzah said the rebranding marked a new chapter for both Wawasan Negara and PN, and would strengthen the coalition’s agenda of competence, integrity and stability.  

PCM was originally founded in 2009 by former Gerakan figures including ex-Batu Kawan MP Datuk Huan Cheng Guan.
