PN Enters Election United, Says MIPP’s Punithan

JOHOR BARU June 26 —– Perikatan Nasional (PN) will stand together as a united team in the upcoming Johor state election, says Malaysian Indian People’s Party (MIPP) leader P. Punithan.
Mr Punithan, who is also the deputy chairman of PN, said that talks about which party gets to contest each seat went very smoothly. The meeting, held on Wednesday (24 June), was led by election director Datuk Seri Sanusi Md Nor.
"There were no arguments or angry moments. The talks were calm, and everyone shared their ideas openly. We are all determined to face this election together," he told reporters on Thursday night (25 June) after naming his party's candidates.
He added that every party within the PN alliance has promised to help and support each other's candidates. To get ready, the chosen candidates will meet local party leaders and campaign teams in their areas on Friday (26 June).
"I will go along with our candidates myself to introduce them to the other PN parties. We want to see how we can work together during the two-week campaign," Mr Punithan said.
This will be the first time MIPP takes part in a Johor election. The party will contest five seats:
Bukit Permai – M. Lina Manoh
Paloh – DS Jeevakumar
Kota Iskandar – SS Anna Pravina
Pemanis – Dr A. Arvind
Permas – T. Vela
