Johor Bahru, 6 July 2026 — Former minister and Reset co‑founder Saifuddin Abdullah has called on voters in Johor to reject Pakatan Harapan (PH) in the upcoming state election, urging them instead to use their “moral compass” when choosing between candidates from Perikatan Nasional (PN) and Barisan Nasional (BN).

Speaking at a Reset gathering attended by around 300 people, Saifuddin said: “We are not specifying which party should be supported. The only certainty is that it should not be PH.” He added that voters should consider which party best aligns with the principle of amar makruf nahi mungkar — enjoining what is right and forbidding what is wrong.

Saifuddin, who has previously been a member of Umno, PKR and Bersatu, is now secretary‑general of Parti Wawasan Negara, recently admitted as a PN component. The event also featured former Melaka chief minister Rahim Thamby Chik and PN information chief Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal.

His remarks come after PAS, another PN component, instructed supporters to back BN candidates in constituencies where PN is not contesting. Bersatu, however, has said it will not direct its members to support any particular party in such seats.

Saifuddin argued that the central issue in Johor’s polls, scheduled for 11 July, was not politics but good governance.
