LUNAS, July 25- More than 100 secondary school students, parents and educators attended the TVET Awareness and Exploration Programme organised by Arulmigu Sri Muniswarar Alayam here today to gain greater exposure to Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) and its career opportunities.

Held at Dewan Arulmigu Sri Muniswarar from 8am to 1pm, the programme was themed

"Pilihan Bijak, Masa Depan Cerah" (A Wise Choice, A Bright Future).

Organising chairman Anbalagan Thanimalai said the initiative was aimed at creating greater awareness of TVET as a viable education pathway alongside conventional academic studies.

He said the programme introduced participants to various TVET courses, recognised qualifications and career prospects, while providing practical exposure through hands-on demonstrations in technical and vocational fields.

"The objective is to help students and parents make informed decisions on post-secondary education by highlighting the opportunities available through skills-based education," he told Alaiolinews

Anbalagan said the programme also featured experience-sharing sessions and one-to-one counselling, enabling students and parents to obtain personalised advice on education and career planning.

He said the initiative supports the national agenda of strengthening TVET education by equipping young people with industry-relevant skills to meet the country's growing workforce demands.

The programme, held under the tagline 
"Teroka Kemahiran Anda, Cipta Masa Depan Anda!" (Explore Your Skills, Create Your Future!), targeted students in Forms Three, Four and Five, as well as their parents and school counsellors.

Anbalagan expressed hope that the programme would encourage more young Malaysians to pursue TVET as a practical and rewarding pathway towards sustainable employment and long-term career development.
