KUALA LUMPUR (13 June 2026) — Several Malaysian politicians, including former senior officeholders and current office-bearers, are expected to be arrested and charged in court early next week over corruption and abuse of power.
The arrests and charges would come after extensive investigations were completed, Malaysia Gazette reported, citing an unnamed source.
“Prosecutors have reviewed multiple investigation papers on high-profile graft cases and decided to charge political leaders next week.
"Some held senior posts previously and others remain active,” the source said.
More than one individual and more than one case are involved, the source added.
“The individuals will be brought to court following a comprehensive investigation conducted without compromise,” the source said.
